6 To 9 Year Old Children’s Choir

When I was a kid, I sang in the 6-9 year old children’s choir. We didn’t have a whole lot of kids in my class, and the most complicated thing we did was learn sign language while singing a song. Now I have a child in the 6-9 year old children choir (which numbers about 60+/- kids), and they’re really learning a lot! Two part harmonies, sign language, rhythm and using soloists for their new, exciting songs. The highlight of my child’s week is to go to choir. And my other kids are looking forward to the day that they, too, can be a part.

The kids in this year’s class learned a song that one of our mom’s and lead vocalists, Regina Tittley, wrote several years ago, the “Colors Song”. (This song was also made into a beautiful children’s book and comes with a CD of the song. Look for it in the bookstore by the Pavilion.)

Another great thing, besides the little people learning to sing, is the opportunity this choir gives to our young musicians to play for a choir and in a band. Most, if not all, of the musicians playing for this choir are intermediate students, some playing in the Fair for the first time.

The 6-9 year old children’s choir will sing during the afternoon at the Fair, around 2:00 PM in the Music Tent.
