Empandas and Street Tacos

We’re introducing Street Tacos and Puerto Rican Empanadas to our food choices this year! We had a trial run last week, and everyone came away with rave reviews! We’ve also added grilled Mexican corn. Stop by during the Fair for a sample of these new food items!    

Pretzels and Pretzel Dogs

Making Fresh Pretzels and Pretzel Dogs for the Fair! These won’t be baked until the Fair, so they’ll be fresh and hot when you get them! You can also make your own pretzel during the Fair inside the Craft Pavilion. (1 on the Fair Map)

3600 Hamburger Buns

The Jalapeño Polish Sausage is out of the smoker!

Homestead Meat Market is working lots of extra hours to produce enough hot dogs, sausages and hamburgers to feed all of the expected guests to this year’s Fair! Waffle Cones Hot off the Press

Once again our cooks are cranking out 2,000 Maple Waffle Cones, each one rolled by hand. All together they used 50# of flour, 36# of butter and 24 quarts of real maple syrup amongst other ingredients. (Yes, each cone contains nearly 2 teaspoons of butter.) I wish we could blog the smell! Yum!!   

Fresh Hot Tamales!

A happy crew of cooks just turned 240 lbs of corn masa into 3,000 tamales in preparation for this year’s fair.  Stop in at the Mexican food booth in Food Court A for a Mexican tamale plate with charro beans and Spanish rice. 

Hand Made Bread for Soup Booth

Fresh Spinach

We have fresh lettuce, spinach and other greens available for purchase at the Aquaponics Greenhouse! All of our vegetables in the Greenhouse are for sale year-round, so stop by to pick up your fresh vegetables during the Fair or anytime afterwards!
